YES - overnight camp is in beautiful Nova Scotia, Canada.  We can help you get here!

Debate Camp strives to make it easy to come to camp.  While our day camps appear in many neighbourhoods across North America, our legendary overnight camp requires air travel for most. We do our very best to make this easy for parents and their flying debaters.

In the case of our overnight camps, Debate Camp has a long tradition of welcoming campers to camp via nearby airports.  Here is how it works:

 

ACCOMPANIED FLIGHTS

 

For our Nova Scotia Overnight Debate Camp – Debate Camp will meet campers at the following airports and accompany them all the way to Halifax / YHZ and on to camp : 

 

New York – LGA – Laguardia International Airport:  via flight: [2020 flights TBC]

 

Boston – BOS – Boston Logan International Airport via flight: [2020 flights TBC]

Toronto – YTZ – Billy Bishop Island Airport via flight: Porter Airlines [2020 flights TBC]

 

Ottawa – YOW – MacDonald Cartier International Airport via flight: Porter Airlines [2020 flights TBC]

ARRIVING VIA HALIFAX AIRPORT

​

For campers arriving directly to Halifax - YHZ – Halifax International Airport; note that Debate Camp Staff meet campers at the baggage area associated with their arrival flight.  Cell phone numbers for staff meeting campers are shared in advance.

 

Debate Camp operates its own dedicated shuttle service between Halifax Airport and Nova Scotia Overnight Debate Camp at King’s Edgehill School – approximately a 55 minute drive from the airport.

 

On return flights, Debate Camp Staff accompany campers to security screening area associated with the gate for their return flight

 

NOTE:

 

  1. IDEAL arrival times to YHZ  are between 12:00noon and 3:30pm

  2. For non-carry-on / checked bags – please ensure baggage fees for return flights are pre-paid

  3. ALL flight information should be shared with Debate Camp via: info@debatecamp.com - ideally on / by August 1, 2020.  Please ensure camper name is included in the correspondence.

 

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR ENTRY TO CANADA:

If you are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, you must carry proof of citizenship such as a passport, birth certificate, a certificate of citizenship or naturalization, a U.S. Permanent Resident Card, or a Certificate of Indian Status along with photo identification. If you are a U.S. permanent resident, ensure you carry proof of your status such as a U.S. Permanent Resident Card. (Source:  Canada Border Services:
