DORMITORY and DINING:
Campers at Debate Camp are housed in comfortable, gender-separate dorms with Debate Camp Program Staff housed on each floor. Rooms are furnished for 2 occupants. Roommate requests are available. Camper roommate pairings are otherwise determined by age group. Food service allows for a selection of options at each meal. Dietary requests are accommodated with advance notice via the registration process.
WORLD SCHOOLS DEBATE:
Unique to overnight debate camp are our workshops on 3 v 3 World Schools Debate style. This format suits debaters who are learning how to extend arguments further into the debate round, as well as the art of effective summary, particularly after 2 full speeches per side. Details on World Schools format and speaker roles are explained on our DEBATE page.

TRANSPORTATION in 2025:
In 2025 we will be offering shuttle service from nearby train, airport and ferry terminals. FULL details on all of our 2025 transportation services are available HERE
Families can pre-arrange this service as they register. Details for arranging flights within idea time windows to assist with shuttle service will be attached to confirmed registrations.
Parents are welcome to drop off campers at camp; ensuring they arrive by 5:00pm on the start-up day of the overnight camp week.

RECREATION and OUTINGS:
Debate Camp is well known for its balanced approach to learning. Admittedly, debating and public speaking are academic activities. The energy required for success here is often best served by some opportunities for thematic fun and improv-type games. Recreation times and swim outings are available each day and we schedule gamp-wide games each evening (often concluding with a campfire). Cultural outings and local sightseeing opportunities are offered as a finale to the week.

AGE GROUPS and PROGRAM:
Debate Camp's overnight program suits campers in grades 7 - 11. All instruction is levelled according to camper age and ability. The LEVEL UP program stream is conducted on its own schedule, allowing for additional debate rounds each day. Overnight camp also has optional debate workshops and debate rounds conducted in French and additional workshop times in Global Awareness and World Issues.
INFORMATION UPDATES:
We keep in touch with all of our camp families both in advance and during the camp session. Parents / guardians receive a confirmation email immediately following registration, and a second email detailing pick-up / drop-off instructions. During the week, pictures and daily updates are posted on camp's social media pages: FACEBOOK and Instagram (see contact information at the bottom of this page). At the end of the week a progress card that shares some of each camper's individual growth in is available to parents / guardians and campers.
